APALACHIN, N.Y. – The Cornell men’s golf team is tied for eighth with one golfer in the top 10 after the first 18 at the Matthew Auto Collegiate Invitational.
Weston Warden leads the Big Red at two-under (70) with five birdies in the first round. In a tight field, freshman TJ Betlow is second on Cornell with a score of 73. Betlow carded five birdies and an eagle on the 18th hole.
Char Russekoff (76), Jackson Debusschere (78) and Tyler Debusschere (79) round out the team score of 297. The Big Red sits in eighth after the first round of play.
Individuals also competing for Cornell include Matt Simon (76), Tyler Zimmer (78), Tismark Boham (78) and Jack Burda (85).
The second round of play with start at 9 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start.
