CANTON, Ohio – In the first event of the 2024 Fall season for the Ohio Dominican Panthers men’s golf team, the Panthers battled in the Malone-Glenmoor Fall Invitational on Monday (Sept. 9) and Tuesday (Sept. 10).
The Panthers finished in fifth place of 13 teams in the team standings, after shooting a 54-hole total of 901. Ohio Dominican had two rounds of 299 on Monday, sitting fourth overall. The final round was a 303 for the Black and Gold.
Senior Yadhu Urs was the top Panther in the event, placing in a tie for fourth. Urs was 4-over in the tournament with a 220. He started with a 2-over 74 in round one before back-to-back 1-over 73 in rounds two and three. Urs tallied five birdies, including two in rounds two and three.
Fellow senior Jeremiah Bane ended the event outside the top ten in a 12th place tie. Bane scored 7-over at 223. After a 2-under 70 in round two, Bane tallied rounds of 4-over 76 and 5-over 77 in the first and third rounds, respectively. The senior notched seven birdies overall, including four in his low round.
Jackson Parnell, a graduate student, tied for 17th in the standings with a 227 (+11). Parnell’s best round was a 1-over 73 in the opening 18 before rounds of 7-over 79 and 3-over 75. Parnell had eight birdies over three rounds.
Nathan Menapace made his collegiate debut in the tournament. He was in 25th place with a 231 (+15). His three rounds were 5-over 77, 4-over 76, and 6-over 78. Menapace made seven birdies in the tournament with four coming in the first round.
Senior Tyler Andersen was one stroke behind Menapace in 26th place, scoring a 232 (+16). Andersen started with a 4-over 76 and finished with a pair of 6-over 78 rounds, totaling six birdies.
Junior Nash Linder was tied for 32nd place with a 236 (+21). He was 8-over 80 in the first round with consecutive rounds of 4-over 78. He led the Panthers with eight birdies with three in each of the second and third rounds.
The Panthers will return to the course in three weeks with an appearance at the Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Collegiate on September 30th and October 1st.
