BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican Panthers men’s golf team concluded the 2024 Fall schedule in the Hawkshead Links Invitational, hosted by Wayne State on Saturday (Oct. 19) and Sunday (Oct. 20).
For the second straight weekend, the Panthers were in second place. ODU totaled 580 for the two-round tournament, including an opening round 8-under 280 – tying the school record for a single round.
The Panthers had 36 birdies, leading the four schools (five teams) competing. ODU totaled 104 pars in the tournament, the third most.
Senior Tyler Andersen finished tied for fourth place, shooting a season low. Andersen was 2-under 142 overall with rounds of 5-under 67 and 3-over 75. His first round of 67 was the lowest individual round he had this season so far. Andersen compiled nine birdies, tied for fourth place.
Graduate student Jack Lindgren sat one stroke behind his teammate in a sixth place tie. Lindgren finished 1-under 143 for the two rounds. He started the tournament with a 3-under 69 before ending Sunday with a 2-over 74. He was second among the field with 11 birdies.
Graduate student Jackson Parnell and junior Bryce Cobb finished in an 14th place tie. Both Panthers were 3-over 147 on the weekend. Cobb had the only subpar round of the duo at 1-under 71 while his second round was 4-over 76. Parnell tallied rounds of 1-over 73 and 2-over 74 as the individual. Both Cobb and Parnell made seven birdies.
Seniors Yadhu Urs and Jeremiah Bane were tied in 19th place with a pair of 5-over 149 scores. Urs shot 1-over 73 and 4-over 76 while Bane totaled 2-over 74 and 3-over 75. Bane was one of four players with 24 pars, tying for third in the tournament.
Ohio Dominican’s season will resume in the Spring.
