ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men’s golf program released its fall 2024 schedule on Thursday, Aug. 1. The Phoenix will compete in four events, including its annual home tournament.
The Phoenix starts off its fall campaign at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Sept. 7-10 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Elon will then head to Galway Ireland to compete in the Lyon Links on Sept. 14-21. Next, the maroon and gold travel south to Fort Myers, FL for the West Bay Collegiate on Oct. 4-7. Elon will wrap up the fall at Alamance Country Club to host the ninth annual Elon Phoenix Invitational on Oct. 13-15.
“We’re excited to kick off our fall campaign,” said head coach Don Hill. “Our schedule encompasses everything great about college golf – great courses, great fields and the cherry on top is the opportunity compete in Ireland in mid-September.”
The Phoenix is coming off their lowest 54-hole total at the 2024 CAA tournament where they finished second. Entering his 12th season, Hill returns eight golfers including Garrett Risner, a 2024 All-CAA First Team Selection and Jack Wieler, who was named to the 2024 All-CAA Second Team. Other returners include Juan Callejo Ropero, Matthew Doyle, Landon Durham, Timmy Gannon, Jennings Glenn, and Bronson Myers. Elon also welcomes one newcomer, Bizzell Pate.
