BOONE, N.C. — Coastal Carolina men’s basketball found itself on the wrong end of a 74-51 decision to App State in Sun Belt Conference action on Wednesday inside the Holmes Center.
Coastal (8-8, 1-3 SBC) continued it struggles in Boone, dropping to 1-9 all time at Holmes. App State (8-7, 2-2 SBC) has taken eight of the last nine matchups overall in the series.
The Mountaineers were all over the Chants early, using a 31-14 run out of the first media timeout to turn a one-point lead (6-5 App) into a 37-19 halftime margin the home team would not relinquish.
Coastal battled throughout the second half but could never get the deficit under 14.
Jordan Battle topped the chart for the Chants with 14 points while Noah Amenhauser added 11.
App’s CJ Huntley led all players with his double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Myles Tate scored 16 and Jalil Beaubrun added 11.
Coastal continues its road swing on Saturday against Georgia State at 4 p.m. ET.
