The Memphis Grizzlies have their starting 17 ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Memphis’ roster for the beginning of the start of the season is now set. It includes the 14 players the Grizzlies have on standard contracts and the three signed to two-way deals. The roster has been mostly set during the offseason, but Scotty Pippen Jr. got a standard contract and Yuki Kawamura earned a two-way deal in the past couple weeks.

Even with Pippen’s new deal, the Grizzlies still have an open roster spot to start the season. That means general manager Zach Kleiman has some flexibility. He could sign one of the two-way players (Kawamura, Jay Huff and Cam Spencer) to a standard deal, or he could use it on a free-agent signing. That slot could also be useful in trades.

The Grizzlies start their season on Wednesday (8 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network) on the road against the Utah Jazz.

The Grizzlies’ depth will be tested early, especially at the wing position. GG Jackson, Vince Williams Jr. and Luke Kennard are all expected to miss time to start the season.

Memphis is still in a much better place health-wise than during most of last season, which was derailed by significant injuries to most major contributors on the roster. Ja Morant, Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane are all back and expected to play in the season opener against the Jazz.
