ESCANABA — One last race.
The fourth-annual Yooper Fall Classic is set to begin at 7 p.m. Friday and conclude at 6 p.m. Saturday. Bragging rights, and thousands of dollars, are on the line in Escanaba Speedway’s final event of 2024.
But before the racing action begins, get to know sport compact driver Mark Isley in this week’s Meet the Driver. Isley finished the 2024 season second in points.
Adam Hinch: What got you into racing?
Mark Isley: My uncle and all my family. We all went to the races and I decided to try my luck at it.
AH: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of racing?
MI: That is about it, racing is my hobby. I race both here and at Sands Speedway.
AH: What is your favorite football team?
MI: The Green Bay Packers.
AH: Do you have a favorite player?
MI: I like the whole team.
AH: Fish fry or burgers and brats?
MI: I would have to go with burgers and brats there.
AH: Where would be your dream vacation?
MI: Some place nice and warm like the Carolinas or Southern California.
AH: Coke or Pepsi?
MI: Pepsi.
AH: What is your go-to fast food place?
MI: Culvers. Burger and cheese curds hit the spot.
AH: What is your favorite racing moment so far?
MI: Probably where me and my buddy Tombo were battling back and forth in a feature and having all the family come out to support me.
