Matthews highlighted the afternoon for Charlotte. In round one, Matthews started to find his groove on the back nine after bogeys on holes nine and 13. HE shot for birdie on 16 and 18 to carry that momentum into the next 18 holes.
In the second round, Matthews totaled seven birdies with four of them coming on the back nine. After day one, Matthews is tied for the individual lead with Brantley Baker (Georgia Southern) and Ian Gilligan (Florida).
