Massage Heights will close in the Bradlee Shopping Center at the end of the month, and customers with gift cards will have to get them redeemed at their nearest location in Sea Girt, New Jersey.
Staff confirmed that the location at 3642 King Street is closing Oct. 28 (Monday). They also said that no more appointments are being made and that gift cards are non-refundable.
That was bad news Emily and Ian Bryan, after she spent $450 for a one-massage-per-month gift card for him last Christmas.
Ian Bryan said that he tried to get a refund and was refused by the owner in an email.
Franchise owner Lucio Cisneros responded that the cards are not refundable, and that customers “can use your gift card at any Massage Heights Retreat in the United States and Canada.”
“It’s just so ridiculous that his answer is, you can go to New Jersey to get a massage,” Bryan said.
Massage Heights opened in the Bradlee Shopping Center in 2014.
Cisneros did not return messages from ALXnow.
