Although it feels like the street version of the adidas Samba has been done in every possible color combination and imprinted with countless collaborative logos, the golf iteration still has plenty of room to grow its roots. After years of lying dormant, adidas brought the footwear icon back to the golf course in 2022 complete with a cushioned midsole and spikeless outsole. Initial drops featured tropical hues and the classic white and gum colorway, and as the silhouette picked up steam Kith came on board to put its own spin on the sneaker. Now Malbon Golf is here to leave its mark.
The two brands first teamed up starting early in 2023 on a series of co-branded collections and then at the beginning of this year came together for the Crosby Collection, a more formal collaboration between adidas, Malbon and the Bing Crosby estate. This latest project falls more into the former category, with the standout Samba complemented by men’s and women’s golf apparel. More than a simple case of slapping an “M” logo on an already finished product though, Malbon offers a custom take on the low profile silhouette complete with two tone green serrated stripes, a light brown outsole, metallic gold accents and light gray suede to highlight the signature split toe design.
The surrounding apparel options offer plenty of matching green potential like the color block Ultimate365 Sport Polo or the more understated Ultimate365 Anorak. The highlighted women’s pieces include a versatile long sleeve shirt with Three Stripes down either sleeve, a matching skort and an Ultimate365 Sleeveless Mock in vibrant sky blue. The full collection drops a bit later today, August 16, at 10AM PST on Malbon’s website.
