ORONO, Maine (WABI) – Maine Women’s Basketball is getting ready to turn the page to their conference schedule.
After a pair of games in New Jersey this weekend the Black Bears will kick off their slate of America East games against UMass Lowell on January 2nd.
Maine has a 4-7 record and they began their season against some tough non-conference opponents including Harvard and Indiana University.
Despite falling to a losing record Coach Vachon noted the benefits that come with taking on tougher opposition before kicking off conference matchups.
“I think you see your warts, right? When you lose everything is magnified. And so it’s good in a way that you can see them early and so you can address them and figure out how to go from there,” Coach Vachon said.
Maine’s America East home opener is set for January 4th against Bryant.
