Lumin Fitness creates a boutique fitness experience by using artificial intelligence, augmented reality, gamification, motion tracking and personalized audio during the sessions, officials with Verge Fit Holdings, the Houston-based investment group behind the location, previously said in an email.

The business offers 40-minute group fitness classes in studios with wall-to-wall screens that create an interactive environment. Classes are led by an AI trainer who leads members through high intensity functional training as well as an in-person coach who supports and provides members additional feedback as needed, officials said.

The backstory

The Irving-based business was founded in 2019, and the Katy location is the first of 13 planned from Verge Fit Holdings for Texas in the Austin, Houston and Dallas areas, according to a company news release.

What else?

Between Feb. 7 and the soft opening Feb. 24, the company is offering free VIP Early Access to Lumin’s workouts. Individuals can register on the website or via the company’s fitness app to try Lumin’s classes, Kyle Herring, studio manager at Lumin Fitness Cinco Ranch, said in an email.

The grand opening will be held March 1.
