PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Lewis Rexroad, of the Wood County Republican Party, traveled to Wisconsin for his third Republican National Convention.
“When I first started coming West Virginia was still a Democrat state and it’s nice now to be considered a solid republican state,” said Rexroad.
Over his time attending the RNC Rexroad says he has seen that image change for what he calls the better. As he stays at the RNC this year he is excited to bring excitement and enthusiasm about the Republican party back to Wood County.
“I think we’re bringing back a lot of enthusiasm for those who are here. Hopefully we can translate that to other people, how important this election is and we still can’t take anything for granted,” said Rexroad.
The RNC will continue through Thursday and former President Donald Trump is expected to speak at the convention on Thursday.
