Liverpool have enjoyed an excellent start to the season under new head coach Arne Slot.

The Reds have surprised many with their brilliant form to start the campaign and, under the guidance of their new head coach, are into the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup and unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League.

Many also consider Liverpool to be genuine contenders for the Premier League title, and Slot has already collected some important results in the competition, including a 3-0 win over Manchester United and a draw against title rivals Arsenal, both away from home.

Slot has had an instant impact in Merseyside and a number of his players have been in red-hot form since the Dutchman arrived, none more so than Ryan Gravenberch.

Ryan Gravenberch is the best midfielder in the Premier League

According to a new report from Squawka, Gravenberch has statistically been the best central midfielder in the Premier League this season.

Squawka named the 10 best players in Gravenberch’s position, and the 22-year-old topped the list.

James Madison and Moises Caicedo, who had both at times been linked with an Anfield move before they joined their current clubs, took second and third place respectively.

The list was comprised using data and specifically cites the Dutchman’s impressive 1.45 interceptions retaining possession per 90, 1.45 tackles won per 90 and retention rate of 87.72%.

The fact that the Reds have only conceded 0.56 goals per 90 with Gravenberch on the pitch in the Premier League was also a contributing factor.

Slot’s impact on Gravenberch

Gravenberch can now be considered one of the best midfielders in world football, and this Squawka report is further evidence of that fact.

Slot’s impact on Gravenberch cannot be understated and the former Ajax and Bayern Munich man isn’t the only player who has taken their game up a level since Slot’s arrival.

Both Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah have been electric for Liverpool and Ibramihma Konate has also stepped up over the last few months.

The future looks bright at Anfield, and if Slot has been able to turn Gravenberch into the Premier League’s best midfielder in just four months, Liverpool supporters will be excited to see who else their new head coach can elevate in the future.
