The Miami Dolphins (5-6) are traveling north to Wisconsin to take on the Green Bay Packers (8-3) on a special Thanksgiving Day edition of “Thursday Night Football.” These two teams have met just 16 times in their histories, with the Dolphins holding a 10-6 lead, though the Packers have won five of the last six meetings.
When the Dolphins lost Tua Tagovailoa to yet another concussion, Miami went just 1-3, and upon his return, they lost two close games to the Cardinals and Bills. But since then, Miami has been on a bit of a roll, convincingly winning their last three games, beating the Rams by eight, the Raiders by 15, and the Patriots by 19 points.
Since losing to the Detroit Lions at the beginning of November, the Packers had their bye week, snuck by the Bears by blocking a last-second field goal, and then smashed a Brock Purdy-less 49ers team. When their offense struggles like it did against the Lions and Bears, they have to fight to the wire, but when the offense clicks like it did versus San Francisco last week, they can be very lethal.
Betting line and pick for the game
The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are favoring Green Bay in this game with the betting line being set at Packers -3.5 points. This is a potentially big game for the Lions, with the Packers nipping at their heels. At home, the Packers’ offense worries me, but let’s try and will a Dolphins win into existence…
Prediction: Dolphins 24-21
