Greg Norman, one of the most dominant professional golfers to ever swing a club, is playing a key role in putting big-time golf on the map in central Indiana.
The Club at Chatham Hills is set to host the 2025 regular-season finale for international professional golf tour LIV Golf.
Norman, LIV’s CEO, visited Westfield earlier this month to get a look at millions of dollars in course enhancements that he emphasized will not alter the course layout.
“I think the changes are taking shape in a fantastic way…the characteristics in the quintessential Pete Dye design has not been changed one bit, and that’s what I’m probably the most proud of,” Norman told Inside INdiana Business host Gerry Dick. “I’ve been very, very meticulous in making sure it’s exactly if Pete was standing there right beside me, this is exactly what Pete would want.”
The deal for LIV Indianapolis is a one-year contract between the tour and Zionsville-based Henke Development, which built the course in 2014. LIV will have a single-year renewal option for 2026.
“We identify the area where we truly think it’s going to be a long-term partnership. I use the word partnership in full sincerity, because that’s what I look for and making sure you do have partners into the future because we want to invest,” Norman said. “Everybody just comes together on this deal, and a rising tide floats all boats. Our success is their success.”

LIV Golf Indianapolis, scheduled for Aug. 15-17, is expected to draw up to 30,000 people to Chatham Hills. It will be the first top-tier professional golf event hosted by the course.
As for the event, Norman says fans should be ready for golf and more.
“We’re a shotgun start, so all 54 players are on the golf course at the same time,” Norman said. “If you’re a spectator or a fan, when you come here, within six hours, you’ve had a hell of an experience from watching golf to the fan village to having a concert and going home.”
