Detroit Lions pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson was carted off the field after suffering a serious lower leg injury in the third quarter and was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Hutchinson was injured while sacking Dak Prescott. With the Cowboys quarterback in his grasp, Hutchinson’s left leg whipped into teammate Alim McNeill, who was also pursuing Prescott.
The third-year defensive end lied on the turf in pain as the Lions’ medical staff gave him attention. His leg was put in an air cast before being carted off the field with players from both teams lending their support.
The Lions held a 34-6 lead over the Cowboys at the time of Hutchinson’s exit.
Hutchinson came into Week 6 as the league’s leading sack-getter (6.5).
