LeBron James talks about this Thursday’s game versus the Celtics
The Los Angeles Lakers enjoyed a rare blowout win on Tuesday against the Washington Wizards which improved their record to 23-18. But while their schedule has been favorable and home-heavy over the last few weeks, they will face a huge test on Thursday.
That is when the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics come to town. While the Celtics remain, in the minds of most, the team to beat throughout the league, they have won only half of their last eight games, and they will play the Los Angeles Clippers the night before they face the Purple and Gold.
Still, LeBron James, who had his ninth triple-double of the season versus Washington, knows that the Lakers will be in for a steep challenge. Following Tuesday’s game, he talked a bit about what his team needs to do on Thursday against Boston.
James alluded to the stark contrast between a Celtics team that is a proven product and has a distinct identity versus a Lakers team that is still searching for an identity exactly midway through its season.
After Thursday’s game, the Lakers will begin a six-game road trip. While this trip may not be overly difficult, it will include contests against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, the New York Knicks on Feb. 1 and the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 4.
