BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) – On this Christmas Eve, stores were packed with last-minute shoppers.
Many felt the pressure and excitement of the holiday rush, from scrambling to find the perfect gift to checking off forgotten items. For one family with members from Kansas and Louisiana, their holiday shopping trip in Branson was more than a dash for gifts. It was a heartfelt Christmas reunion.
“This is something we all enjoy doing. We all enjoy window shopping, having a couple of laughs, and just being able to hang out and see what Branson has to offer,” said shopper Ann Marie Pallan.
It’s been years since both sides of the family celebrated Christmas together, and they’re soaking in every second of this special moment right before tomorrow’s gift-giving.
Theresa Angers says, “We’re shopping for a little bit of everybody.”
For the family, the holiday isn’t about the hustle or the gifts. It’s about being together.
“Christmas, you know, it’s all about family, not the people or gifts or anything like that,” said Isabella Rosenthal. When Ky3 asked the family about their favorite gift this year, they didn’t hesitate. “The most meaningful gift, I think, this year is the gift of love and togetherness,” said Angers.
Their last-minute shopping spree is about more than just this year; it’s setting the stage for future plans.
“The strong connections and bonds with each other tell us what to get for each other when we’re shopping, even if it’s last minute,” said Christian Rosenthal.
