PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Christmas is less than 48 hours away, and some people are still out shopping, looking for last-minute items to stuff under the tree.
But for some shoppers, the madness that fills the aisles is another part of their Christmas tradition.
“It’s the holidays,” one shopper said. “You have to go to the stores; you have to shop; you have to see people; you have to have people run into you, but it’s fun.”
While decking the aisles may be fun for some, others would rather bypass large crowds and shop from the comfort of their own homes.
“I do prefer online because there are so many people out here today,” another shopper said. I like to see the stuff in-store, then maybe buy it online.” She continued, “I try to shop early for Christmas, but with the way things are going right now, I had to get a few things last minute, but hey, I still got them.”
Whether you prefer online shopping, the stores were still jam-packed with bags big enough to fill Santa’s sleigh. But not everyone was shopping for others.
“Today I got myself a nail file,” a shopper mentioned. “Because I’m going to need it. It’s a lot of stuff. I don’t know if you can see it in there, but it’s all stuff for acrylics.”
As the clock winds down and Christmas approaches, these last-minute shoppers pick up everything they need to finish filling the bottom of their trees.
If you are a last-minute shopper, you may be in luck. Many stores have extended their holiday hours, with some staying open as late as midnight.
