BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Harding women’s golf made a strong move up the leaderboard on day one of the Tulsa Cup, jumping from fifth to third place after two rounds at Forest Ridge Golf Club.
The 34th-ranked Lady Bisons carded a 36-hole total of 619 (309-310), four strokes behind second-place Arkansas Tech and 15 strokes off leader Rogers State. Washburn is tied with Harding for third.
Harding excelled on par 3s, playing at 11-over, the second-best score in the 17-team field. The Lady Bisons also fared well on par 5s, shooting 1-over, second only to the tournament leader.
Sarah Kmiecik led Harding, tying for 11th at 152 (75-77). Kmiecik’s 1-under performance on par 3s paced the tournament, and her 2-under score on par 5s ranked fourth. She notched a team-high six birdies.
Rounding out Harding’s lineup were solid performances from Sydney Kincade (tied for 15th, 154, 78-76), Pilar Martinez (tied for 28th, 156, 78-78), Madeleine Wilson (tied for 30th, 157, 78-79), and Cooper Meyer (tied for 45th, 161, 80-81).
The final round tees off tomorrow at 8:15 a.m.
