VESTAL (WBNG) — KW Fitness in Vestal announced the results of its annual “Push-Ups for Veterans” initiative on Tuesday.
The event was held on Nov. 10. The fitness challenge raises money for veterans.
One push-up equated to a $1 donation to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group. This year, KW Fitness reached its goal of $10,000.
KW Fitness Owner Kevin Webb said the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group is a community gem. Webb said he’s proud to support it.
“One thing I think that’s really neat for the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group, that not a lot of people know, is that 92 cents of every dollar is put right back out into the community,” Webb described.
The Veterans Support Group helps veterans with housing, home repairs and the adjustment to civilian life.
This was the 11th year of the initiative. It has raised $100,000 in the last decade.
