If there was ever any doubt about which high school football team is the best in Kentucky, that was squashed over the weekend.
The Boyle County Rebels, the four-time defending Class 4A champions, have been KSR’s top-ranked team through the first few weeks of the season. Boyle County traveled out of state to take down nationally-ranked St. Edward (OH) on Saturday by a score of 38-21, scoring 17 unanswered points in the second half. West Virginia commit Montavin Quisenberry finished with four touchdowns for the Rebels.
As you might have guessed, Boyle County is once again the unanimous No. 1 team in Kentucky in KSR’s Week 3 Top 25 statewide rankings. There was plenty of movement among the rest of the Top 10, with DuPont Manual jumping into the mix and Frederick Douglass falling to No. 13. Additionally, there are two new teams in this week’s rankings. In the KSR Game of the Week, Cooper came out on top against Ryle in a last-minute, 21-14 win.
