The Sacramento Kings are working out NBA veteran T.J. Warren this week, per Sam Amick. This comes after they worked out another veteran in Jae Crowder.
Warren was a great role player, and a star in the NBA Bubble in the 2019-20 season. He had a season ending foot injury in the 2021-22 season, and was never really the same. However, having a veteran forward never hurts.
The Kings are doing these workouts to address their lack of forward depth. Both Keegan Murray and DeMar DeRozan will be starting, and they are the only two small forwards with experience on the team. The Kings would love a vet who can come in and do damage control while their stars take a break and catch their breath.
Between the two, the Kings should try to land Warren. He has proven to be a good scorer before his injury, and if he can get into a system that uses him well, he could go back to that level, and be a good scorer off the bench for Sacramento.
