The kickoff time and broadcast details are set for Tennessee football’s week 11 matchup against Mississippi State. Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at 7 p.m. ET and ESPN is broadcasting the game.
The SEC originally flexed the game with it either being the ESPN night game or the SEC Network game at 7:45 p.m. ET. But after Tennessee knocked off Kentucky 28-18 on Saturday night, the league office finalized the Vols-Bulldogs matchup as the ESPN night game.
With its win over Kentucky on Saturday night, Tennessee improved to 7-1 (4-1 SEC) to open up its critical five-game stretch to end the season. The Vols once against struggled to start the game, squandering numerous scoring opportunities while falling behind 10-7 at the half.
But a pair of huge second half turnovers and a 13-play, 93-yard touchdown drive propelled the Vols to a two-score victory over a struggling Kentucky team.
Mississippi State is coming off its second win of the season, overcoming an early deficit to defeat UMass 45-20 on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs come to Knoxville with a 2-7 (0-5 SEC) record with their only win besides UMass coming against Eastern Kentucky to open the season.
The Bulldogs offense has been playing better in recent weeks since moving to freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren in mid-October. Mississippi State is still looking for its first SEC win of Jeff Lebby’s tenure as head coach.
