Reincarnate, a Grade 3 winner who most recently finished third in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic on Aug. 31 at Del Mar, has been exported to South Korea.
The 5-year-old son of Good Magic was purchased by K.O.I.D., the bloodstock arm of the Korea Racing Authority, for $375,000 at the Keeneland sale at Del Mar on Nov. 30 as a racing or stallion prospect. According to the KRA online stud book, Reincarnate was imported to South Korea on Sunday. His move to South Korea previously was reported by Paulick Report.
Reincarnate began and ended his career in the barn of trainer Bob Baffert, for whom he won the 2023 Sham (G3) by a neck over Newgate as the 16-1 longest shot on the board. As Baffert’s horses were ineligible for the 2023 Kentucky Derby, he was moved to the barn of Tim Yakteen, for whom he finished second in the Rebel (G2) and third in the Arkansas Derby (G1). Reincarnate finished 13th behind Mage in the 2023 Kentucky Derby.
A 5-year-old grey or roan son of 2017 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Good Magic, Reincarnate is out of the stakes-winning Scat Daddy mare Allanah. After the Kentucky Derby Reincarnate raced eight more times, all for Baffert. His only win in that time came in the 2023 Los Alamitos Derby, though he achieved four graded-stakes placings in his five starts at age 4. He concluded his career with a 16: 3-5-4 record and $727,900 in earnings.
