River Thames, who is 2-for-2 for trainer Todd Pletcher, and
Holy Bull (G3) winner Burnham Square are among the seven last-out winners who
were entered for the Grade 2, $415,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes, a Kentucky
Derby 2025 points prep next Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
The race that will be the 13th of 14 on the stakes-laden card is a
50-25-15-10-5 points prep, making it a virtual win-and-you’re-in for the Kentucky
Derby.

Street Sense (G3) winner Sovereignty, Swale victor Gate to
Wire and Ed Brown winner Keep It Easy also are in the field of eight
3-year-olds who will race 1 1/16 miles around two turns on the main track.
Allowance first-place finisher Neoequos and maiden-breaker Solid
Left are the other two entrants who won their most recent starts. Debut victor
McKellen, who was sixth in the Mucho Macho Man, completes the field.
The Fountain of Youth has produced 14 Kentucky Derby
winners, most recently Mage two years ago. Orb in 2013 was the last horse to
win both the Fountain of Youth and the Churchill Downs classic.
With a first post next Saturday at 11:30 a.m. EST, the Fountain of Youth is scheduled to start at 5:42 p.m.
