Kentucky basketball: Mark Pope highlights offense after loss to Ole Miss
Kentucky Wildcats basketball coach Mark Pope highlights the team’s good offensive performance in the 98-84 loss to Ole Miss on the road.
LEXINGTON — Lamont Butler, the starting point guard for Kentucky basketball, has been removed from the SEC’s availability report ahead of Saturday’s game against South Carolina at Rupp Arena.
But another starting guard might not play against the Gamecocks: Jaxson Robinson was listed as a “game-time decision.”
Butler has missed the past three games as he deals with a shoulder injury. He leads the Wildcats in assists (4.8) and steals (1.76) per game.
Coach Mark Pope told ESPN reporter Pete Thamel that Robinson injured his wrist in a “brutal collision” during Friday’s practice.
Robinson has appeared in, and started, all 22 games for UK this season. His 13.6 points per game is second on the team to fellow guard Otega Oweh‘s 16.
UK and South Carolina are slated to tip off at noon today at Rupp Arena.
The contest between the Wildcats and Gamecocks will air on ESPN2. John Schriffen (play-by-play) and Daymeon Fishback (analyst) will have the call.
Authenticated subscribers can access ESPN2 via TV-connected devices or by going to WatchESPN.com, the WatchESPN app or ESPN+.
You also can stream ESPN2 on Fubo, which offers a free trial.
Tom Leach (play-by-play) and Jack Givens (analyst) will have the UK radio network call on 840 AM in Louisville and both 630 AM and 98.1 FM in Lexington.
You can also listen online via UKAthletics.com.
