Keeneland: Chop Chop, Atomic Blonde get rematch in Dowager

Chop Chop and Atomic Blonde, the one-two finishers from the springtime running of the Bewitch (G3), headline a field of 12 fillies and mares and two also-eligibles entered for the 33rd running of the Grade 3, $300,000 Dowager Stakes next Sunday at Keeneland.
Contested at 1 1/2 miles on the turf, the Dowager will go as the eighth of nine races with a 4:44 p.m. EDT post time.

Owned by Selective and trained by Brad Cox, Chop Chop tries to become the third runner to sweep the Bewitch and Dowager in the same year. Kitten’s Point in 2015 and Upperline in 2012 were the others to do it. Luan Machado has the mount from post 7.
Atomic Blonde gets a fifth meeting this year with Chop Chop, who is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, Winters Equine and trainer Christophe Clement. Atomic Blonde got the best of her rival in the listed Keertana at Churchill Downs in May but finished behind Chop Chop in the Robert G. Dick Memorial (G3) at Delaware Park and in the Glens Falls (G2) at Saratoga. Tyler Gaffalione has the mount from post 11.
