Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports & Fitness Center in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
K-State improved to 4-1 with its wire-to-wire 83-71 first-round victory over George Washington. Liberty (5-1) advanced by beating Louisiana, 89-69, behind 20 points from Kaden Metheny. Metheny is the Flames’ leading scorer for the season, averaging 15.4 points, while forward Zach Cleveland adds 12 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
The winner will face either Longwood or McNeese State for the championship at 7 p.m. Monday, while the losers play for third place at 4:30.
This section will be updated when the game begins.
Liberty is a step up in competition from George Washington in the opening round, but K-State also raised its game after some shaky performances at home leading into the tournament. If the Wildcats build on that success they should prevail.
Prediction: Kansas State 75, Liberty 70
