MANHATTAN — Kansas State basketball is back from the Virgin Islands to the wintery chill of Kansas at 1 p.m. on Sunday for a home game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Bramlage Coliseum.

The game is the first half of a doubleheader with the No. 12-ranked Wildcat women’s team, which takes on Central Arkansas at 3:30 p.m.

K-State (5-2) went 2-1 in the Paradise Jam last weekend, including an 80-64 victory over Longwood in Monday’s third-place game. The Wildcats opened the tournament by beating George Washington, 83-71, but stumbled in a 67-65 semifinal loss to eventual champion Liberty.

The Wildcats face an Arkansas-Pine Bluff team (1-7) that has lost six straight, all on the road. The Lions’ closest game during that stretch was an 83-71 decision Wednesday at Pacific.

The leading scorers for UAPB are guards Christian Moore at 12.1 points per game and Dante Sawyer with 12.0, while forward Klemen Vuga adds 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds.

David N’Guessan and Brendan Hausen each average 13.7 points for K-State, with Dug McDaniel contributing 9.8 points and 5.2 assists and Coleman Hawkins 9.4 points and 7.4 rebounds. Hawkins had his first double-double as a Wildcat against Longwood with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
