Doha: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), represented by the Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department (Tarsheed), has organised an awareness workshop for facilities management in Qatar, during which it reviewed mechanisms for enhancing energy and water efficiency in buildings.
The workshop targets technicians involved in building energy management, aims to raise awareness about the concept of following guided methods and applying sound practices to rationalise electricity and water, by adopting strategies for preserving the environment and energy efficiency for a sustainable future and a better life in the State of Qatar.
Ideas were also exchanged and discussions were held about the effective management of energy consumption to reduce the waste of energy and water, which contributes to urging participants to follow these practices that contribute to reducing consumption bills to save money and reduce the carbon footprint.
This initiative comes within the framework of the National Program (Tarsheed) seeking to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and increase awareness of the efficiency of energy use of electricity, water and renewable energy, to contribute to reducing the rate of consumption, preserving the country’s resources and reducing harmful carbon emissions.
It is worth noting that the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has launched many initiatives and programmes in the fields of awareness, education, social responsibility, and the application of the sustainability system in the field of rationalisation, with the aim of enhancing values, raising continuous awareness, and conveying the culture of rationalising consumption to all segments of society.
