The 44th annual Ashland Times-Gazette Jr. Golf Championship tournament was played at Brookside Golf Course on July 17 and July 18.
The winner in the girls Division 5 competition, ages 15-18, was decided in a sudden death playoff for the second year in a row, and for the second year in a row it was the same two girls. Only this year the winner was different.
On Thursday, Kyah Huckleberry emerged from the playoff as the Division 5 winner.
She and Dally Meek both shot two-day scores of 167.
Huckleberry posted scores of 77 and 90 for a total of 167, while Meek shot 85 and 82, also 167.
The tournament is divided into six divisions.
The Division 2, boys ages 15 and 16, the winner was A.J. Brown, shooting 85 and 85 for a two-day total of 170. The runner up for Division 2 was Landen Timms with scores of 87 and 86 for 173.
In Division 3, boys ages 13 and 14, taking first place was Hunter Christian carding scores of 90 and 92 for a two-day total of 182. Runner-up Kale Durig shot 91 and 92 for 183.
Division 4 is Boys aged 10 – 12 years old. This age group played 9 holes each day.
Jackson Zarnstorff, with scores of 52 and 45 for a total of 97, was the winner in Division 4, boys ages 10-12, and Jacob Aspin was runner up shooting 47 and 54 for a total of 101.
In the girls ages 14 and under Division 6, the group played nine holes each day.
Laney Meek easily out distanced the competition with scores of 47 and 49 for a two-day total of 96. Runner-up Chloe Crunkilton posted scores of 58 and 57 for a total of 115.
