Life is good for Josh Allen on and off of the field.
The Bills quarterback, who’s a heavy favorite to win his first NFL MVP award, explained that his fiancée, actress Hailee Steinfeld, has played a major role in his success this season.
“She’s been a huge part,” Allen, 28, told The Associated Press. “The morale, the support. When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best.”
Allen proposed to Steinfeld during Buffalo’s bye week last month in a stunning scene that featured an arch of pink and red roses next to a body of water, as seen a joint post on Instagram.
The Pro Bowl quarterback gushed over Steinfeld while responding to comments made by Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins, who explained that Allen is playing with joy because he’s happy in his personal life.
“There’s something about it,” Dawkins said of the couple’s Nov. 22 engagement. “When you’re in this world that we’re in, and a lot of people pulling at you and a lot of sources of ups and downs of a roller coaster, and you have that one stable person that you can rely on and go home and hug and get a laugh no matter what, I think that’s dope. And that’s what I think is going on.”
Allen didn’t deny that.
Steinfeld previously gushed over his proposal in her Beau Society newsletter.
“All the happy tears have just barely dried,” she wrote. “Whenever we tell the story, look back at photos, or even say ‘We’re engaged’ or ‘We’re getting married’ I start crying.”
The couple, who are fairly private about their relationship, were first photographed together in Manhattan in May 2023.
Allen has played virtually lights out ever since he popped the question.
In his past three games, he had 1,020 combined passing and rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns without an interception.
Allen had a season-high 362 passing-yard-performance in a 48-42 win against the NFL-best Lions on Sunday in a game that all but secured his first MVP trophy.
He’s a -900 favorite at FanDuel, ahead of reigning MVP Lamar Jackson at +550 odds.
The Bills (11-3) previously clinched the AFC East Division title for a franchise-record fifth consecutive season with a 35-10 win over the 49ers on Dec. 1.
The Bills host the Patriots (3-11) on Sunday.
