The largest deal for a quarterback in NFL history was agreed to on Friday.
Jordan Love reached an agreement with the Packers to a four-year, $220M contract extension, which makes him the highest-paid quarterback in the league’s history, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
He will also get a $75 million signing bonus, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 25-year-old got the megadeal despite only starting one season.
However, the emerging superstar threw for 4,159 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, leading Green Bay to the second round of the playoffs last year.
The signal-caller entered the league following a strong collegiate career at Utah State University, where he ranks No. 1 in program history with 9,003 yards of total offense and also ranked first with 12 career 300-yard passing games.
His performances were eye-catching, and the Packers snagged him with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The deal comes on the same day the Dolphins locked up Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year, $212.4 million extension.
