MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – John McKenzie is out as Vigor High School’s head football coach, sources confirmed to FOX10 today.
McKenzie was named the head coach for the second time less than a year ago. He led the wolves to a 12 and 2 finish and all the way to the 5A semifinals this past season and a 4A state title in 2021.
McKenzie went 31 and 8 in two separate stints with the program. He is 36 and 22 overall in six years as a head coach.
There are now four head coaching vacancies in the Mobile County Public School System — Vigor, Baker, LeFlore, and Murphy.
