This year’s Cancer Awareness Game for the UNC football program definitely has more meaning to it.
Since March of 2022, Tylee Craft has batted Stage 4 lung cancer. While his battle has been a challenging one, Craft never lost his love for the UNC football program, as he’s been around the program as much as he possibly can.
Recently, Craft was hospitalized as he continues his battle. While the UNC football program would love to have had him in attendance on Saturday afternoon, senior wide receiver JJ Jones has made sure Craft’s name is seen throughout the game.
As posted by the UNC football program’s social media team, Jones will wear Craft’s jersey during the Tar Heels contest against Georgia Tech. Not only will Jones sport the No. 13, but the last name “Craft” will be featured on the jersey as well.
Things like this just go to show you how much these student-athletes genuinely care about each other.
While we honor those who are battling cancer (and those who unfortunately have lost their battle previously), the UNC football program is showing once again that they stand up for Tylee Craft as he continues to battle each and every day.
