Before the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am got going, CBS Golf’s Trevor Immelman and Jim Nantz got a round in at one of the world’s greatest golf courses, Cypress Point. One of Immelman’s best shots of the day was filmed — and narrated — by Nantz.
The video got started with Nantz recording Monterey Bay preparing for what will be an ad-read on Sunday.
“Tonight on CBS begins with 60 Minutes followed by the Grammy’s, live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+,” Nantz said. He continued to pan the camera to Immelman, who was getting ready to hit his tee shot on the par-three 15th hole. “Back here at 15 and Trevor Immelman, who’s three-under for the day leads McIlroy by one.”
That lead on McIlroy (we presume Rory McIlroy but we can’t confirm or deny) was about to grow, as Immelman’s tee shot was on point.
“Oh this is pure, Dottie,” Nantz said to Dottie Pepper (again, that’s an assumption that we can’t confirm or deny). “It looks like it’s right at it if it’s not long. Oh, my goodness. It’s right next to the hole. It almost goes in. Again, he leads McIlroy and Adam Scott — who just made a birdie — also one back. Let’s go back over to 18.”
Immelman posted the video to X on Thursday with the message, “Bucket list round yesterday at Cypress Point….just amazing. My man Nantz with the commentary.”
