JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A familiar face will be leading the green and gold Tigers on the football field this upcoming season.
Jim Hill introduced Zackare Grady as the Tigers’ new head football coach. Last season, Grady served on the sideline as Jim Hill’s defensive coordinator, but will now be taking the reins. The Louisville High School graduate has more than two decades of coaching experience and is thankful for the opportunity to lead a new group of young men.
Grady also spent his college career at Jackson State University playing linebacker for the JSU Tigers and earning All-SWAC honors in 2001. After his time with the Tigers, Grady signed with the San Francisco 49ers as a free-agent linebacker.
The former Jackson State linebacker is happy to be back in the metro after coaching at Newton High School and is ready to establish a new culture for the Jim Hill football program.
“Our expectation is to put a winning product on the field,” Grady said. “That means we’ve got young men that go out and execute the game the way it’s supposed to be played from a fundamental standpoint.”
