Alabama decided not to bring back Colin Hitschler, who had been working with fellow co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist in the secondary during the 2024 season. Linguist is set to return for the 2025 season.

He also spent time as a coach at Indiana, Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Rice and Alabama, where be started as a graduate assistant two decades ago. Jones played for Alabama from 1996-2000.
