Social media has the power to make or break. Especially when wild speculations turn into rumors, they can affect people’s relationships. Jannik Sinner and his girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya were recently caught in the crossfire of a similar situation. The duo were rumored to have split after a certain speculation about the Russian WTA star trended on social media. However, Kalinskaya made amends and seemingly rekindled with the Italian talent before the idea of their break-up could start persisting.
The couple shares an immense number of followers on their Instagram handles, and on the flip side, like every other star, they have a fraction of that when it comes to the people they follow back. Merely hours ago, a rumor surfaced online when a user shared a screenshot of Kalinskaya’s profile. Notably, the screengrab showed that the 25-year-old unfollowed her partner on her IG page. When Sinner’s account was searched in Kalinskaya’s following list, no results popped up. Moreover, when fans surfed through Sinner’s account, they discovered that the reigning Australian Open champion continued to follow Kalinskaya, despite the rumored buzz. This, in turn, sent fans into a frenzy.
However, before the tennis community could get their hands on a more credible source to verify the said rumor, the Russian herself made amends and cleared the air. A passionate fan posted a screen capture on X that refuted all speculations and instead, revealed that Kalinskaya followed back the World No. 1 on her profile. With this, the tennis world will certainly be elated to acknowledge that everything is seemingly good between the two sporting stars.

The stars made their relationship public earlier this year in May. While Kalinskaya refrained from delving into any personal details surrounding their romance, the Italian also previously told the media that they wished to keep their relationship on the down low and “very confidential.” However, it was merely a matter of time before the couple spilled some beans.
This, notably, happened right after Sinner reached the summit clash of the 2024 Halle Open, prompting his girlfriend to express her admiration for him. Anna Kalinskaya cited how she admired his athletic prowess by saying, “I’m just trying to be a little bit as good as Jannik. He has an amazing year, I’m gonna text him now, I’m so happy.”

The Russian was last witnessed in action at the WTA Toronto. Despite showcasing decent form, the former World No. 17 conceded her third-round contest against Amanda Anisimova due to a wrist injury. Her lover, Sinner, on the other hand, made a comeback to the sport after skipping the Paris Olympics due to health concerns. He is also performing at the Canadian Open where he is scheduled to face Alejandro Tabilo in the 2R on Saturday, August 10.
