Freshman Jahki Howard was dismissed from the Auburn basketball bench in the second half of the Tennesse game.
Howard played a total of five minutes and finished with one assist in the Tigers 53-51 victory over the Volunteers.
“He had a rotation out there, and I don’t think he felt great about his rotation,” Bruce Pearl said postgame. “We had a conversation, and we had another conversation after the game. He’ll be fine.”
Tennesse hit its first 3-pointer in the second half tying up the score 38-38 on a failed closeout from Howard. According to Auburn On3, Pearl was not happy with Howard’s defensive effort resulting to his exit.
Assistant coaches Corey Williams and Bryant Smith trailed Howard in the Lockeroom. However, he never returned back to the court.
After halftime, Howard was spotted not shooting with the team and standing outside of the huddle before the start of the second half.
