Ja Morant may not be dunking as much as in past seasons, but that has not stopped NBA fans from tuning in to his highlight reel.
In a list released Monday, only LeBron James ranks higher than Morant in viewership on the NBA’s social platforms this season. Stephen Curry and Victor Wembanyama are among the players behind Morant on the list.
James leads the way with 623 million views, and then there’s Morant with 538 million. Anthony Davis rounds off the top 10 with 169 million.
Morant has led the Memphis Grizzlies (20-9) to one of the top records in the NBA and what would be a No. 2 overall seed in the Western Conference. Through that journey, Morant has thrilled crowds with fancy passes, layups, blocks and occasional dunks.
The NBA’s list was created to highlight the players who will be featured on Christmas Day. Morant is one of three players in the top 10 who won’t be playing on Christmas this season.
Don’t be surprised if that changes next season. With the Grizzlies back in the hunt, they could make their first appearance on Christmas since 2022 in the near future.
