Bryce Smiley introduced as new JL Mann High football Coach in Greenville
GREENVILLE — J.L. Mann hired Bryce Smiley as its next football coach Wednesday.
Smiley previously served on the defensive coaching staff at Gaffney High School for the past 15 seasons.
Smiley will replace Steve “Scoot” Watson, who left to become the coach at Greenville.
“The identity of this football program will come from action,” Smiley said. “I don’t always like to talk about culture, because those are just words at the end of the day. We will prioritize sleep, food, practice, exercise — all things that’ll make us a great team.”
This past season, J.L. Mann finished 10-3 and 6-1 in Region 1-AAAAA. J.L Mann fell short to Spartanburg in the Upper State semifinals.
