The Timberwolves were involved in one of the bigger trades of the offseason, trading away Karl-Anthony Towns and receiving Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo as part of three-team trade involving the Knicks and Hornets. Minnesota avoided salary cap hell with the trade, but the jury is still out as to whether the new additions will be sufficient to get the team back to the conference finals this season. They’re 2-2 so far this season, but there’s still plenty of time for the team to gel and get back into Western Conference contention.
The Spurs are coming off a road win over the woeful Jazz, who outplayed the Silver and Black for a half before the good guys put the game away with a surge in the second half led by Victor Wembanyama. Tonight, the Spurs are at home and have a rest advantage over the T-Wolves, who beat the Nuggets late last night in Denver. The airport is a long way from the arena in Denver, so the Spurs will want to start quick tonight, unlike the game against the Jazz, where they didn’t wake up until the second half.
Keita Bates-Diop will play 20 minutes in his return to the Frost Bank Center, and log a double double.
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
