Just how much does it cost to watch every NFL 2024 game? The answer is actually simple. The NFL+ streaming service offers live local and primetime games for $7/month, or $28 for the four-month-long regular season, while YouTube’s Sunday Ticket covers every other game for $479. So, there you have it—every NFL game until the playoffs for two transactions totaling $507.
Ah, but of course, there’s a catch: NFL+ only comes with mobile viewing rights. If you want to watch the NFL on your actual big-screen TV, things get complicated. Much more complicated.
Every week, NFL games air on CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC. If you want Sunday Ticket along with access to those four stations, the cheapest option without traditional cable comes via YouTube TV, which is currently offering a $65/month discount rate for new subscribers, along with a $100 price cut on the out-of-market football package (which otherwise retails for $479 this season) for multi-channel customers . YouTube TV also comes with NFL Network, which has seven exclusive games in 2024.
Venu Sports plus NBC’s Peacock and CBS’ Paramount Plus services would’ve provided a slightly less expensive way to get the most common game-airing channels (not including NFLN), though that platform is now in legal limbo. For those not needing Sunday Ticket, Sling’s combo plan along with Paramount Plus might combine for a similarly slightly cheaper bottom line.
Google is currently offering a package of YouTube TV and Sunday Ticket for $636, granting four months of football coverage—but not complete coverage. NFL RedZone is a $40 add-on for Sunday Ticket subscribers. (RedZone can also be bought directly from the NFL for $15/month, or $60 for the season as part of NFL+ Premium.)
Then in 2024, there are four streaming services with exclusive NFL games to consider as well.
Peacock: Peacock starts the season with its third exclusive game, a Friday night affair between the Eagles and Packers from Brazil. The cheapest Peacock plan starts at $8/month (and in general, the cheapest plan is the place to start for sports fans, since ads will be included in broadcasts even for premium subscribers).
Amazon Prime Video: Amazon returns with its third season of exclusive Prime Video broadcasts in Week 2, airing a marquee Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins matchup. Fans wanting to watch Thursday Night Football every week can buy a standalone Prime video membership for $9/month if they don’t already have the larger Amazon Prime subscription for $15/month or $140/year.
ESPN+: On Monday, Oct. 21, in the NFL’s Week 7, ESPN+ has its one exclusive game of the season, featuring the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals. ESPN+ currently costs $11/month.
Netflix: And for the first time, Netflix has joined the NFL broadcasting party this season. The streamer will air two games on Christmas, and its lowest subscription price is currently $7/month.
Adding those four services up for the required subscription periods brings another $62 to the total tally, putting it at $698. For the playoffs, another month of YouTube TV and Prime Video (which has its first exclusive postseason game this season) adds $82 more. And for the Super Bowl, you can sign up for another month of YouTube TV for $73 to stream Fox. But we recommend buying an antenna for $8.
Final combined price? $788. That said, almost all sports fans are likely already paying for some of the above services.
Taking out Sunday Ticket, the total cost of the four streamers plus YouTube TV drops to $322 right now for the regular season. YouTube also offers a $199 Sunday Ticket package for verified students.
Of course, fans of their local teams can alternatively watch all of those games with a $20 antenna and review the highlights from other action online.
