ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The IRS will hold a two-day hiring spree next week in Chamblee to fill more than 100 customer service jobs.
The IRS said the “direct hiring event” — during which hiring officials will make job offers to qualified attendees — will take place at the Atlanta Marriott Northeast/Emory Area hotel, located at 2000 Century Blvd. NE in Chamblee, on Wednesday, Oct. 2, and Thursday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The agency will be hiring “contact representatives” for its Chamblee service center, who will provide over-the-phone technical assistance to individuals and businesses throughout the country.
The representatives will help taxpayers understand and pay their taxes. The entry-level positions don’t require prior tax experience.
“The IRS’ top-notch training programs will teach individuals everything they need to know to prepare them to be successful in these positions,” the agency said.
The annual salary starts at $41,822, and offers “exceptional benefits, career development, advancement opportunities and meaningful purpose-driven work.”
The IRS said attendees are asked to register for the event and that priority consideration will be given to those who register and apply to the job posting beforehand.
Though the registration site for the event says it’s “sold out,” the agency said walk-ins will be accepted after 12 p.m.
