As Iowa women’s basketball looks to snap its four-game losing skid, the Hawkeyes will have to do so without one of their stars.
Junior forward Hannah Stuelke is listed as “out” in the Hawkeyes’ pregame Big Ten availability report.
Per Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register, Stuelke suffered a concussion during overtime of Iowa’s most recent game versus Nebraska. Stuelke is day-to-day per Leistikow and did not travel with the team to Eugene, Ore.
Stuelke’s 12.9 points per game average ranks second on the Hawkeyes and her 8.2 rebounds per game are tops on Iowa. The 6-foot-2 forward is shooting 47.8% from the field and has scored in double figures in 14 of Iowa’s 18 games thus far this season.
Stuelke is coming off a 16-point, 16-rebound performance during Iowa’s loss versus Nebraska. Those 16 boards represented a career-high for Stuelke and it also secured her eighth career double-double.
In what feels like a must-win game for the Hawkeyes, Iowa being without Stuelke certainly makes Sunday’s date an even larger challenge.
Iowa (12-6, 2-5 Big Ten) tips off versus Oregon (13-5, 4-3 Big Ten) at 4 p.m. CT from Matthew Knight Arena. The game will stream on BTN+.
