Taylor McCabe thinks Iowa’s offense will be more balanced this season
Junior guard Taylor McCabe sees a group effort from 3-point range and reveals that the team tied in their scrimmage against the men’s gray squad.
The first taste of Iowa women’s basketball this season arrives Wednesday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, where Iowa will host Missouri Western at 6:30 p.m. BTN+ will stream the game.
While most exhibition games for Power Four teams are nothing more than a dress rehearsal, there is some meaning for Iowa in this one. Jan Jensen’s debut as head coach, plus questions to answer surrounding the rotation, make Wednesday’s affair important even if the margin of victory likely won’t be.
The Hawkeyes won both of their exhibition games last season, toppling DePaul at the Crossover at Kinnick (94-72) and NAIA member Clarke University at home (122-49). Wednesday’s game probably won’t get as lopsided against Division II Missouri Western, which went 25-6 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament. But the Hawkeyes should get plenty of chances to work out kinks before next Wednesday’s season opener versus Northern Illinois.
