Iowa State football is keeping it in the family.
Class 2025 three-star cornerback LaMarcus Hicks II announced on Monday that he committed to the Cyclones.
The Des Plaines, Illinois, native is the son of LaMarcus Hicks, who played two seasons for the Cyclones as a defensive back before a stint with the NFL’s Detroit Lions in the mid-2000s.
“First of all, I would like to thank the staffs who have recruited me up to this point. I am very grateful for the opportunities to play at a great program for great people/coaches,” Hicks II wrote in a social media post. “After talking with my family I have decided to commit to Iowa State and continue the legacy!!”
Hicks II is the No. 52-ranked player in Illinois and the No. 151 cornerback in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. He also had offers from Northern Illinois and Illinois State.
He becomes the 14th overall commit and the first cornerback to join the Cyclones’ 2025 recruiting class.
